Commercial integration and business opportunities between Ecuador and Colombia

Abstract
Regional integration has been the starting point of the economic development of many countries in the world, which is why analysing the opportunities and challenges in the business field that Ecuador has within the framework of its trade agreements is very important. This research addresses the issue of trade integration with the neighbouring country of Colombia and has the purpose of giving a broad look to an integration process and commercial relationship from the Latin American context, where a boom has been evidenced by regional trade agreements. , stressing the positive and negative aspect of this type of negotiations. The study is descriptive and uses a method of documentary research, which has reached the conclusion that the two economies in spite of their difference in size have managed to work together on foreign trade but with a trade balance in favour of Colombia . The similarity of the products offered by these two countries to other markets is also an important competitive variable and ,finally, the business opportunities in both countries are not only limited to private investment but also to an interesting public investment opportunity.
