Systematic review of the use of steam in higher education
Abstract
The objective of this research was to carry out a systematic review of the use of the STEAM conceptual model in Higher Education, since, when used at the school level, its advances have been outstanding and notable. Therefore, the search was carried out on the research topic, through the selection of studies and strategies based on first and second order information, obtained from specialized databases on the Internet. The information review was carried out during the months of December 2020, January and February 2021 and considered dimensions such as: solutions based on problems, disciplinary integration, promotion of skills, support for professional development, structural support and technological support. The selected information comes from research and authors, with scientific evidence, who were cited according to APA standards, while the evidence from the respective research or content was analyzed, contrasted, and synthesized by the researcher. Finally, the conclusions were established that allowed determining that, in Higher Education in Ecuador, there is a transversal axis of research, which affects the training of students through collaborative and multidisciplinary work, being the ideal setting for their micro-curricular integration considering the respective techniques for evaluating student learning.
