Abstract
The agricultural sector in the province of Chimborazo stands out for the production of products such as potatoes, onions, livestock, and dairy as the main economic activity, which can be affected by factors such as climate changes, pests, pesticide residues, price fluctuations, access to technology, policies, and financing. This research evaluated the incidence of microbiological and chemical contaminants in the agricultural production of Chimborazo, using business intelligence as a data analysis tool from 2020 to 2023. Among the most important results, it is shown that 2023 had the greatest amount of samples taken and the least amount of contaminated samples. Furthermore, the three most analyzed products are cilantro with 22.38% of the total samples, and with the highest number of positive samples with 36.36%, followed by strawberry with 20.00% contamination, and honey bee with 13.33%. Finally, the largest number of positive samples are Yeasts at 24.24%, Total Coliforms at 20.45%, and Mesophilic Aerobes at 19.70%, which shows the urgent attention of AGROCALIDAD to improve production processes Through technical training and collaboration with other institutions, they generate a positive impact on society.
